Every year, all volunteers – new, returning, parents and instructors – are required to complete a Safety Training Orientation in order to work with the riders in the program. Each training session will provide an update on policies, schedules, horses and riders for the coming year. For those volunteers who are interested in being a LEADER or working in the BARN, an additional training session must be completed.
Safety Training Dates
- Dates are announced in the summer and are usually held the second half of August.
- Leader and Barn training will immediately follow each of these training sessions.
Returning Volunteers should try to attend Wednesday dates if possible as these sessions will be more streamlined. Returning volunteers may attend Saturday Safety Training dates if necessary.
New Volunteers should try to attend Saturday dates if possible as these sessions will give volunteers a broader overview of the program. New volunteers may attend Wednesday sessions if necessary. We will reserve time after the Wednesday sessions conclude to answer any questions New Volunteers may have about the program.
