Beginning in the 2010–2011 Season, each month’s newsletter will include a description of one of our wonderful Mitey Rider Council Volunteer Committees. Hopefully this will help everyone understand more of the opportunities we have for helping to make the Mitey Riders Program work so well, and encourage all of us to find the best place for us to do our part!
NOV 2010 Photography Committee
Sue H. and Kathy H. (both MR parents) are the 2010–2011 chairs of this committee. Together they coordinate the efforts of the volunteer photographers as they take candid photos of all of our riders, volunteers, and horses. Kathy reports that her “favorite photos are the ones where you truly capture a rider, volunteer, staff member or a horse’s personality.” The pictures help both Sue and Kathy “feel more connected to the farm and to the many people involved in making Mitey Riders a reality.” Candid shots top the list of favorites. “They really capture the joy on the children’s faces” as well as the determination and effort of our riders, according to Sue. Since both Sue and Kathy live in Huntersville, the work on the Photography Committee is ideal for them. They get to see all the riders in the program without spending extra travel time and hours at the barn. Digital photography enables us to share photos easily. We always need photos of our riders, horses, and the whole team in action. Please label and submit on disc any photos you would like to share, and check out some of our fantastic pictures in our website galleries!
